Welcome to Ole Brook Cafe

Good nutrition and learning go hand in hand.

The Nutrition Services department is made up of a team of food and nutrition professionals that are dedicated to students' health, well being and their ability to learn. We support learning by promoting healthy habits for lifelong nutrition and fitness practices.

School breakfast and lunch provide the fuel for our  students to concentrate, learn and succeed in the classroom.  Well-nourished students have higher test scores, increased  school attendance, improved concentration and improved classroom behavior.

Meals, foods and beverages sold or served at schools meet state and federal requirements which are based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines. We provide students with access to a variety of affordable and appealing foods that meet the health and nutrition needs of students.

Notice to the Public:

The Brookhaven School District Child Nutrition Department is requesting a waiver from USDA to allow the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) the use of Offer vs. Serve (OVS) in its meal pattern.  The Brookhaven School District has been using OVS in its operation of the SFSP for several years.  The use of OVS keeps plate waste and food cost at a minimum which allows us to continue to provide this service to our community.
